Andrew Tworkowski of the Spokane Braves has signed to play for the Waldorf University Warriors in the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 1 next season.
Tworkowski, a West Richland, Wash., product, played 36 games and won 11 for the Braves with a .908 save percentage in his lone KIJHL season. With the Braves, Tworkowski’s confidence grew, while his skating ability and play recognition improved.
“The Braves gave me a great opportunity to commit to a program by showcasing my talents to scouts and another big contributor was goalie coach Brody Aufderheide,” says Tworkowski. “He and I really connected, which made everything easier to learn.”
Tworkowski is looking forward to studying at and playing for Waldorf University, and credits the Braves and KIJHL for helping make it happen.
“Getting to attend Waldorf University is going to help me develop as a student-athlete and I’m very excited for what the future holds,” adds Tworkowski.
“Andrew quickly gained the trust of the Spokane coaching staff to be the go-to-guy and we are looking for him to do the same here,” said Waldorf Head Coach Mike Heitkamp on the Warriors website. “Andrew is a strong competitor that we are very excited to have in a Waldorf jersey next season.”
