Braves’ Smith commits to ACHA D2 Boise State

Gavin Smith of the Spokane Braves has committed to play collegiate hockey with the Boise State University Broncos in the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 2 this fall.

In his lone season in the KIJHL with the Braves, the Lake Stevens, Wash. native recorded two goals in 32 games.

I am super excited to get started this season with a great group of guys,” said Smith.

Last season, the 18-year-old improved his speed and confidence level.

“I give all my credit to the guys on the team, they pushed me everyday to be the absolute best I could be,” he said.

Braves head coach Jason Greenwell said Smith has a great work ethic.

“He is a hard-nosed player that is one of the best teammates a team can have,” said Greenwell.

Boise State University is based out of Boise, Idaho.
