Jason Greenwell named new head coach of the Spokane Braves

The Spokane Braves have promoted Jason Greenwell to Head Coach after the resignation this morning of Mike Bay.  Jason will continue to serve as the assistant general manager in addition to his responsibilities as the head coach.

After much reflection, I’ve decided it’s time to step down as the head coach of the Spokane Braves and pass the torch to Jason Greenwell. Jason has shown incredible leadership, dedication, and passion for the game, and I have no doubt he will take this team to new heights. I want to thank our assistant coaches, Chris Wagner and Zack Maxwell, for their unwavering support and hard work. Together, we’ve built something special, and I’m confident that the future of the Braves is in great hands under Jason’s leadership.” — Mike Bay

“We just want to say that we appreciate everything Mike Bay has given to the Braves and totally understand that he is ready to pass the torch. We are very appreciative of the fact that Jason Greenwell is willing to pick up the torch and run with it. Jason has proven to be very effective with the team in his on and off ice skills. We are excited for the new season with Jason as head coach. His team leadership will be complete with the continuation of Chris Wagner as assistant coach and with Zack Maxwell coming aboard to join them. We are grateful to have such talented coaches lead the Braves.” – Bob and Cathy Tobiason

I’m thrilled about taking the reins as head coach of the Spokane Braves. I look forward to developing a winning and positive culture here in Spokane. We are looking to be aggressive this offseason and push towards a great 2025/2026 season. The culture in Spokane is shifting and it starts with our staff and buying into each other and our players. I want to thank Bob and Cathy Tobiason as well as Mike Bay for the opportunity.” – Jason Greenwell – Head Coach/Assistant General Manager
