Spokane Braves owner Bob Tobiason is being added to the Inland Northwest Sports Hall of Fame’s Scroll of Honor for helping keep the franchise alive when it neared collapse in the late 1980s. The Hall of Fame’s Scroll of Honor recognizes contributors of a more behind-the-scenes nature. For more than 35 years, Bob Tobiason built the Braves into a model of stability in their former league, producing players who advanced to higher levels of junior, college and professional hockey.
Bob Tobiason and the Spokane Braves were among the founding eight members of the Western International Junior Hockey League, helping establish a new independent chapter for junior hockey in British Columbia and the Inland Northwest.
Bob Tobiason will be added to the Inland Northwest Sports Hall of Fame’s Scroll of Honor on October 21 at Numerica Veterans Arena as part of the Hall of Fame’s 30th induction class.
Congratulations to Bob Tobiason on this incredible and well-deserved honor.
