Braves Force Game 7 with Leafs

March 9, 2010 - What a game!  For a second straight night it would come down to two overtime periods to decide the winner.  Facing elimination from the series with a loss, the Braves got down early 1-0 in the 1st period until tying the game a few minutues later.  Not to be outdone, the Leafs came racing back to make it 2-1 shortly thereafter. The Braves entered the 3rd period down 3-2, and then at 18:53 in the 3rd, Jake Peterson scores the game tying goal that eventually forces overtime.  The 1st overtime period was fast and furious, with both teams not wanting to give an inch.   At the end of the 1st regulation its still 3-3.  The 2nd overtime begins, and the game is a nail biter, each team waiting for the other to make a mistake when with 7 minutes remaining in the 2nd OT, Rance Hughes scores the game winning goal - Braves win 4-3.  Game 7 is in Nelson tonite and the Winner will become the Murdoch Division Champions.  Puck drops at 7:00PM PST.

 
Braves Lose in Double Overtime

March 7, 2010 - The Spokane Braves lost game 5 tonite 3-2 in double overtime against the Nelson Leafs.  The Leafs now take a 3 game to 2 lead in the best of seven with game 6 headed back to Spokane.

 
Braves even the Series 2 -2

March 5, 2010 - The Spokane Braves defeated the Nelson Leafs tonight 5-2 to even the best of 7 series two games to two.  The first period saw the Leafs get on the board first to take an early 1-0 lead, although the Braves outshot the Leafs 14 to 10.  The 2nd period saw the Braves come out on fire scroring 3 quick goals in the first 7 minutes of the period, and then adding a 4th at the end of the 2nd.  Jake Petersen got the first, Nick Redding the second, Rance Hughes the third, and Dylan Tappe the final goal of the period.  Shots at the end of the 2nd period were Braves 31, Leafs15. In the thirdr period, Joel Stewart got this 3rd goal of the playoffs to make it 5 - 2 Braves.

 
Braves Win Game 3

March 4, 2010 - The Spokane Braves defeated the Nelson Leafs in game 3 in the best of 7 series 3-2. Fueled by 2 power play goals in the 2nd, and outstanding Goaltending by Cash Ulrich, the Braves came from behind to win the game.  Nelson nowl has a 2 game to 1 advantage with game 4 scheduled in Spokane at 8:00PM on Friday night.

 
Goaltending defeats Braves 6-3

March 2, 2010 -  The Spokane Braves lost game 2 in the best of 7 series 6-3 to the Nelson Leafs.  For a second straight night, the Braves fell behind early allowing 3 goals on 4 shots in the 1st period.  The Braves mounted a charge in the second scoring 3 times, but couldn't close the gap.  The  Braves are back home for games 3 and 4.  Game time Thursday night is 8:00PM.
