Parker Fournier (Sicamous Eagles), Mikkel Hrechka (Chase Heat) and Andrew Tworkowski (Spokane Braves) have been selected as the first Hudl Instat Kootenay International Junior Hockey League 3 Stars of the Week, for the period ending Sept. 24.
Fournier – Top Forward- The Salmon Arm product had three goals and seven points in three games, helping the Eagles win two of their first three games. On Sept. 22 against Kelowna, Fournier scored the winner short-handed, and added two assists in a 5-2 win. He was named the Eagles’ game-star. On Sept. 23 against Chase, Fournier scored twice in a 4-2 loss, and again was selected as the game star. On Sept. 24 against 100 Mile House, Fournier collected two assists to help the Eagles win 6-2.
Hrechka – Top Defenceman – The Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan product had two goals and three points in a 4-2 Heat win over Sicamous. Hrechka opened the scoring, then assisted on Kaleb Prymak’s winner on the power-play. Hrechka’s second goal was the fourth for the Heat and he was selected as their game star.
Tworkowski – Top Goalie – The West Richland, Washington product stopped 36 of 37 shots against the Golden Rockets to lead the Braves to a 4-1 win. Tworkowski had a .973 save percentage. Last season he played in the Canadian-American Junior Hockey League for the Cold Lake Aeros and went 14-9-2 with an .895 save percentage.
