Spokane Braves alumnus Dawson Tritt was named an assistant captain by the Lake Superior State Lakers recently.
He is one of two assistant captains with two co-captains.
“This group looks to do everything the right way on and off the ice, and they bring a great work ethic and intensity to our daily routines,” said head coach Head Coach Damon Whitten on the Lakers website.
Tritt, a Spokane product, is entering his third season in the NCAA Central Collegiate Hockey Association with the Lakers.
Tritt is a junior who played 35 games last season, and had nine goals and 17 points with two of his goals coming shorthanded. Tritt also scored a game-winning goal, the third of his career. In 70 career games, the 6-2, 180-pound forward has 13 goals and 27 points, to go with 18 penalty minutes.
“This group provides a great example of both what it takes and what it means to be a Laker,” Whitten said. “Our staff is looking forward to watching them lead this season and continue the proud tradition of Laker Hockey.”
Tritt played for the Braves in 2017-18 and had 24 goals and 43 points in 22 games.
